The purpose of this website is to comply with the requirement to develop a publicly accessible internet site pursuant to the Hazardous and Solid Waste Management System; Disposal of Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) From Electric Utilities; Final Rule (40 CFR § 257.107).

Information contained within this website is organized by facility and is further sub-divided into two sections – landfills and surface impoundments. Pursuant to the CCR rule, certain CCR piles are regulated as landfills, therefore information regarding these CCR piles at individual facilities is located within the Landfill section.

This website contains certain historical documents which may refer to out-of-date CCR Unit names and/or terminology. The naming conventions for CCR Units on this website are current, consistent with the CCR rule, and are considered Alliant Energy’s official designations.
